The brief
A new collection is only as good as the first photo anyone sees of it.
Hats, Boots & Bourbon had a new collection ready and needed the images to put it out on Instagram. Clothing is unforgiving to photograph, because the texture, the fit and the colour all have to survive a phone screen, and a weak set of images makes a good collection look cheap before anyone has read a word about it.
The approach
We shot the collection to be posted immediately upon delivery
The shoot was planned around where the images were going, so the framing, the crops and the grade were built for the feed from the start rather than fixed later. That means the set arrives ready to use, in the order it should run, instead of arriving as a folder someone on the team has to work through.
The result
Delivered with 0 revisions and posted exactly as shot.
The client came back with no changes and put the images straight out. That is the whole point of getting the direction right before the camera comes out, because a shoot that needs three rounds of revisions has already cost more than it saved.
